Bahamas Spring 2008 - Page 03

This is a look at the full monument built to respect the M/V Athel Queen and her crew. Jean is checking out the reef in the distance

Jean says I take to many pictures of stuff and not enough pictures of people.

Our next stop is the Hope Town Light House located in the distance from the park we just visited.

Yes, that is Samana in the distance anchored outside of Hope Town, west of the Hope Town Light House in a small bay in 8.6 feet of water.

Jean took a very nice picture of the view from the light house.

Jean is enjoying the time spent at the Hope Town Light House and the views of the entrance to the harbour.

This is the only working kerosene light house in the Bahamas. The burner in this light house was built by Trinity House in London.

These are the kerosene containers that supply the burner in the light.

It looks to me that the gauge is reading 64 pounds of pressure. Just make sure you open and close the correct valve!
